Scenario: A certain law only allows you to own one car for the rest of your life, it can be anything, money no object, what would you choose?
My choice would be the Jaguar XFR-S Saloon. For me, it's the perfect blend of performance, practicality, comfort and refinement.

I'm getting old, and I've got two of these, so if by "one car" you mean "one model of car" this actually could be the one car I own for the rest of my life.

I already bought a Toyota Tacoma TRD.

BMW e39 m5. Fast enough now, comfy enough when I get older.

Lotus exiege. Why- it is light weight, fun, handles well, is fast, and gets good mpg.

Words like "logic" and "practicality" mean nothing to me.

I've got two of these, one in V6 trim (for the wife) and one in Inline 4 (my life long ride).

What happens when a practical wagon meets mental gran coupé. You get the Mercedes Benz AMG CLS 63 Shooting Brake.
Beautiful, elegant, and plenty of storage
But also completely bat-shit

Screw practicality, who says the rest of my life has to be a long time?

I like your thinking, haha.

With a face that looks like it wants to stab you, and a surprisingly huge amount of space inside, this would be my choice. Screw legality, I will just steal some plates off another normal blue S60.

Id choose a F40, then take it, and move somewhere where that law doesn't exsist, so I have a F40, and other cars too.

Now that's difficult :S
Perhaps a Lynx Eventer:
Or a Beta HPE with the drivetrain from a Delta Integrale:
...or a whole host of other cars. I genuinely don't think I could be happy with just 1, even if it's something as amazing as an Alfa 2600 Zagato:

only one car you say?
hmmm tough call
yep yep that's the one
on a more serious note i can't choose between my current DD a 85' jaguar xj6 or a pagani zonda f :c

My "rest of my life" car would have to be the XFR-S as well. It's just one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen

This exact F-type:

I would get a Hudson Hornet and then put in a crazy modern drivetrain so I can have an awesome old car that has new car performance

As much of a conversion as any AMG was.. http://www.petrolicious.com/amg-hammered-o…

If for some reason I never get to own another car in my life, I'll be very content with my "One Car To Do It All" E90 M3.

It was either between this or an earlier Gallardo, I chose this though because its easy to work on, parts arent that hard to come by, and you can't go wrong with a V8 and 4 on the floor.
